On the eve of 2026, RIIEP has established itself as a space for intellectual convergence and a reference point for those seeking to transform educational practices through rigorous research and ethical reflection. This issue brings together original findings, systematic reviews, and reflective contributions that, from different perspectives, discuss training, performance, and educational inclusion in Latin America, showcasing the vibrant diversity and potential of our region to innovate in pedagogy and overcome historical barriers.
The situation generated by the COVID-19 pandemic has left unequivocal lessons on the need to bridge digital divides, strengthen access to technologies, and rethink academic performance in scenarios of inequality. The opening article addresses this issue from the Colombian context, examining institutional strategies and student outcomes in the absence or limited presence of ICT in education processes. It highlights the urgency of inclusive public policies and sustained investment to enable substantive equity, especially in rural areas and urban peripheries.
