Introduction: this research aims to identify which competitive or innovation strategies were used by family SMEs in Brazil and Colombia after the COVID-19 pandemic. Methodology: the research is descriptive, through multiple case studies with interviews with company managers and qualitative analysis, with the aim of identifying which competitive or innovation strategies were used by family businesses in Brazil and Colombia, after the pandemic period. Results: among the results found, it is evident that: 1. The groups of Brazilian and Colombian entrepreneurs have identical weaknesses
in the managerial and organizational context. 2. In adverse scenarios such as the Covid-19 pandemic, they have allowed some companies to identify business expansion opportunities and others have adapted to guarantee their continuity. 3. Innovations and competitive strategies adopted in the face of the adverse context of the Covid-19 pandemic, noting that such strategies contributed to the continuity of family businesses.
