La presente investigación se articula a partir de los planteamientos de Schumpeter, McClelland, Timmons, entre otros, sumado a la Ley 1014 de 2006 sobre fomento a la cultura del emprendimiento, la cual tiene como objetivo principal identificar la caracterización de la cultura del emprendimiento en las Instituciones de Educación Municipal del sector rural del municipio de Pasto, Colombia.
La investigación busca comprobar los aspectos de apropiación, conocimientos y desarrollo de competencias emprendedoras de los estudiantes, de acuerdo a los lineamientos planteados en la Guía 39 del Ministerio de Educación Nacional, la cual establece nueve actitudes emprendedoras. Dichas actitudes tienen asidero en la cognición del estudiante y le permiten el desarrollo paulatino de competencias, destrezas, actitudes, valores y prácticas, propias del desarrollo del pensamiento emprendedor, de tal forma que den respuesta a las necesidades del entorno.
Se realiza un análisis con enfoque cuantitativo, utilizando un estudio descriptivo, acompañado del diseño y aplicación como instrumento estructurado de recolección de la información; con encuestas dirigidas a los estudiantes del grado undécimo de las instituciones objeto de estudio. Esta investigación trata de identificar las esencias y las pautas que caracterizan el perfil de estos estudiantes, evaluando sus rasgos, comportamientos y actitudes emprendedoras, como elementos determinantes que repercuten en el progreso social y económico de las veredas y corregimientos del municipio de Pasto.

The content of the article must be unpublished, it must not be in the process of evaluation by another institution, it must not have been distributed to third parties, there must be no legal or contractual limitation that prohibits the author from authorizing the use of their work in open access and in printed or digital form.
