This research aimed to characterize the knowledge of teachers in initial mathematics training about Virtual Learning Objects. For this, through a qualitative approach and a methodology in phases, focus groups and an interview were carried out, which was validated by the Delphi method. The main finding was that most of the participants identify with the position that the use of OVAs is necessary for the teaching of mathematics. However, they lack technological knowledge due to their limited training in ICT-related subjects. It is concluded that the teachers in initial training do not relate the VLOs with their technological and pedagogical knowledge since, for the most part, they pointed out the advantages offered by said tool, but in their pedagogical practices they do not visualize it as a tool that contributes to better teaching of mathematics.
