A televisão chegou à Colômbia em 1954 como uma plataforma politica da ditadura militar e como parte de um projeto de modernização que tentava criar uma ideia de nação a partir da cultura e a educação. Com o tempo adquiriu uma importância que iria muito para além das ideias iniciais do Estado, assumindo um papel ativo dentro da sociedade, acompanhando suas mudanças e muitas vezes, ocasionando-as. A singularidade da televisão colombiana está dada pela combinação de diferentes graus de presença do Estado e da empresa privada, que não a colocam do lado de experiências públicas ou privadas, mas em um híbrido de televisão pública comercial. Esta característica descreve tanto um modelo de negócio quanto um papel da televisão como ator social, um rol que se transforma com o tempo e com as mudanças da sociedade. Considerando estas características, a partir de uma analise documental, o artigo explora a relação que a televisão tem estabelecido com a Colômbia como nação em diferentes momentos, levando em conta as mudanças tanto do meio como do país. A analise permitiu observar a importância da televisão na ampliação de oportunidades educativas, na modernização e secularização progressiva do país, as possibilidades inclusivas do meio, a preponderância da ficção como relato nacional e do humor como crítica social, entre outras.

Author
The content of the article must be unpublished, it must not be in the process of evaluation by another institution, it must not have been distributed to third parties, there must be no legal or contractual limitation that prohibits the author from authorizing the use of their work in open access and in printed or digital form.
Obtaining reproduction rights for all graphical material (tables, figures, diagrams, photographs) is the responsibility of the authors. Therefore, they must send authorizations for the publication and use of this material.
Each author must sign the ‘Copyright Transfer Agreement’, transferring the rights to Universidad Nacional Abierta y A Distancia (UNAD) and the Revista Estrategia Organizacional.
