Se realiza un estudio orientado al futuro del cultivo del café nariñense. Dicho estudio permitirá
obtener información relevante sobre los factores que limitan o potencializan el cultivo, identificando las variables clave para estructurar los escenarios futuros para el café en el territorio nariñense. Al interior del territorio nariñense, el café se ha destacado por poseer unas características que lo hacen ser competitivo a nivel nacional e internacional. No obstante, los productores han atravesado por dificultades asociadas a variables como el precio del grano, los costos de producción y la necesidad de abrir nuevos mercados. Históricamente, familias enteras que han dependido del café como medio de sustento, han desarrollado toda una cultura alrededor
de dicho producto, de donde provienen muchas de sus tradiciones y prácticas ligadas a la cotidianidad de su cultivo, el procesamiento y la distribución.
Debido a las condiciones del territorio nariñense, se ha buscado diferenciación en el producto,
para alcanzar ventaja comparativa y competitiva, bajo la cultura de la producción de
calidad, pero también en medio de dificultades para la continuidad de su actividad económica,
situación que se puede empezar a esclarecer mediante este proceso de investigación, sobre
todo en sus implicaciones a lo que al territorio nariñense se refiere. Para ello se aplicó la metodología prospectiva, bajo un enfoque cualitativo y cuantitativo que, en primera instancia,
permita identificar las variables clave para el direccionamiento de acciones futuras, tendientes
al mejoramiento de la situación actual.

The content of the article must be unpublished, it must not be in the process of evaluation by another institution, it must not have been distributed to third parties, there must be no legal or contractual limitation that prohibits the author from authorizing the use of their work in open access and in printed or digital form.
Obtaining reproduction rights for all graphical material (tables, figures, diagrams, photographs) is the responsibility of the authors. Therefore, they must send authorizations for the publication and use of this material.
