Associativity and management of networks in the dairy sector of the Province of Ubaté (Cundinamarca)

Introduction: This paper is a proposal to provide some spaces of reflection on the theme of Associativity and those denominated by some authors like Institutional Social Networks. Having as reference a work experience that has been made visible through research processes associated with the dairy sector and carried out by the Universidad Piloto de Colombia together with the GIRSA and DHEOS research groups in the Province of Ubaté (Cundinamarca), located at north of Bogotá D.C. Methodology: The proposal describes the situation of the dairy sector in the Province, highlighting the main problems faced by small producers and the role of the main actors in the territory linked to the subject: State, large and medium processors, small merchants, and academic entities. Results: the different conceptual guidelines associated with the associativity, networks, competitiveness, productive chains, and their relationship with other concepts such as territory and social capital are exposed. Conclusions: we present the research intervention processes advanced by the Universidad Piloto in the Ubaté province, the proposed methodology and the advances achieved in this year are presented with the active participation of the different actors, teachers and students. During its development the text is complemented by maps, charts, graphs and statistics, which illustrate some topics of interest related to the sector.
