Transformation of Assessment Practices in the Colombian Educational Context: Toward a Formative, Inclusive, and Quality-Oriented Model This study analyzes assessment practices in six Colombian educational institutions with the aim of improving educational quality through the implementation of formative approaches. Its central objective is to examine pedagogical and curricular trends in assessment, focusing on the articulation between student learning and curricular coherence. The research adopts a qualitative methodology based on the analysis of data collected through surveys, semi-structured interviews, and participant observation in urban and rural contexts across the departments of Atlántico, Magdalena, Quindío, and Tolima. The findings make it possible to identify significant assessment practices, such as the integration of quantitative and qualitative methods, as well as persistent challenges, including students’ anxiety in response to traditional assessments. The conclusions underscore the need to adapt assessment strategies to sociocultural contexts, promote reflective self-assessment, and strengthen teacher training in formative assessment. This study offers practical guidelines for transforming assessment practices toward an inclusive model that prioritizes meaningful learning and students’ holistic development, thereby contributing to the advancement of educational policies aligned with contemporary demands.
