Digital Competence in High Education Teachers in Virtual Learning Environments

Bearing in mind that teachers’ digital competence is key in the new society of knowledge in order to qualify the educational practice, this research explored that 
competences of 120 professionals that work in Higher Education, who took the course “Certification e-Mediator in Virtual Learning Environments” from Universidad Nacional Abierta y a Distancia, in 2020, 2021, and 2022 
in order to identify the trends towards the use, application, formation, and attitude to ICT. The design was quantitative non-experimental longitudinal of trend, using two tools: sociodemographic survey and the questionnaire “Digital competence of teachers in Higher Education” validated by Agreda et al., four dimensions were addressed: Digital literacy, Educational methodology through ICT in the classroom, Formation of teachers and Attitude towards ICT in Higher Education. The results show the trends, and likewise the innovative paths of formation for teachers’ educational processes.
