When RIAA receives the postulation of an original by its author, either through email or post mail, considers that it can be published in physical and/or electronic format and facilitates its inclusion in databases, newspaper archives and other systems and indexing process. Para el segundo semestre del 2016, el Departamento Administrativo de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación Colciencias, tiene prevista la convocatoria para la evaluación de revistas científicas. Actualmente se halla en discusión la política para mejorar la calidad de las publicaciones científicas nacionales. Según las orientaciones de la política, el nuevo modelo de Colciencias estará basado en el impacto de las publicaciones científicas, lo cual comporta la incorporación de criterios que permitan medir y clasificar las revistas especializadas colombianas. El modelo contempla una mayor autogestión editorial e indicadores de medición del impacto, complementarios a los ofrecidos por Web of Science (WoS) y Scopus, especialmente el índice H5, por áreas de conocimiento.
