Articles published in Revista Estrategia Organizacional should present a clear scientific structure consistent with the objectives, methodological approach and nature of the research.
As a general structure, manuscripts are recommended to follow Introduction, Methodology, Results, Discussion and Conclusions. However, this structure may be adapted when the theoretical, methodological, empirical or applied nature of the research requires a different organisation, provided that the manuscript clearly identifies the problem addressed, the development of the research, its results or contributions, and the conclusions arising from the work.
Resumen and Abstract
The Spanish Resumen and English Abstract should accurately reflect the structure and scientific content of the article. Both should contain equivalent information and be between 200 and 250 words in length.
Although they should be presented as continuous text and do not require internal subheadings, they should clearly identify:
The Resumen and Abstract should be self-contained and faithfully represent the content of the manuscript. They should not contain extensive background information, general statements that do not contribute to understanding the study, bibliographic references, or results or conclusions that are not developed in the article.
Introduction
The introduction should clearly establish the research problem or question, provide the necessary scientific context and explain the relevance of the study.
It should incorporate a relevant and up-to-date review of the literature that positions the research in relation to existing knowledge, identifies the problem, gap or need addressed by the study, and establishes its contribution.
The research objective or objectives should be clearly stated. Where appropriate, research questions or hypotheses may also be included.
Methodology
The methodology should be described with sufficient precision and transparency to enable readers to understand how the research was conducted and to assess the validity of its results.
Depending on the nature of the study, this section should include relevant information on the research design, participants or units of analysis, context and information sources, data collection procedures, instruments, techniques and methods of analysis.
Where research involves human participants, animals, personal data or other circumstances subject to ethical requirements, the corresponding approvals, consent or declarations should be reported in accordance with the journal’s Research Ethics Policy.
Theoretical, documentary, methodological or review-based studies that are admissible within the scope of a research article should likewise transparently explain the criteria, procedures, sources and methods used to conduct the work.
Results
The results should present the principal findings clearly, logically and objectively and should correspond to the objectives, questions or hypotheses of the research.
Tables and figures may be used where they contribute to communicating the results more clearly. Information presented through these elements should not be unnecessarily repeated in the text.
Results should be distinguished from interpretations or claims not supported by the evidence obtained, except where the nature of the study justifies an integrated Results and Discussion section.
Discussion
The discussion should interpret the principal results in relation to the research objectives, existing knowledge and relevant scientific literature.
Authors are expected to explain the significance of their findings, their similarities or differences in relation to previous research, and the contribution of the study to the field of knowledge.
Where appropriate, the theoretical, methodological, organisational, managerial or applied implications of the findings should be discussed, together with the principal limitations of the study.
The discussion should not merely repeat the results.
Conclusions
The conclusions should derive directly from the results and address the objectives or questions established in the research.
They should synthesise the principal contributions of the study without introducing new results or claims that are not supported by the research.
Where relevant, implications for research, management or practice and potential directions for future research may be identified.
Alternative Structures
The journal recognises the diversity of epistemological, methodological and disciplinary approaches represented in research on management strategies. It therefore does not require a single manuscript structure where such a structure would be inappropriate for the nature of the work.
Theoretical, methodological, qualitative, applied and other research designs may adopt a different organisation, provided that it is scientifically justified and clearly identifies the objectives, foundations, methodology or research process, results or contributions, discussion where appropriate, and conclusions.
Article Declarations and Transparency
At the end of the manuscript, authors should include the declarations required by the journal, as applicable to the study, concerning funding, conflicts of interest, author contributions, research ethics, consent and data protection, acknowledgements, and the use of artificial intelligence.
These declarations should comply with the editorial, ethics and research integrity policies of Revista Estrategia Organizacional.
References
The reference list should contain only sources cited in the manuscript and should provide sufficient, relevant and appropriate support for the scientific, methodological and analytical foundations of the research.
Authors are responsible for verifying the accuracy and correspondence of citations and references, including DOI information and other bibliographic identifiers where available.
The formatting of citations and references should follow the bibliographic requirements established by the journal and detailed in the Tables, Figures and References section.
