El departamento del Chocó es el segundo territorio, seguido de Antioquia, más afectado por la minería ilegal. En el 2016 poseía el 79 % de las zonas verdes afectadas en el país, y, para el 2013, un estudio del Ministerio de Medio Ambiente estimó que en esta región existían aproximadamente 67.000 hectáreas de zonas húmedas transformadas por las exploraciones a cielo abierto. En Colombia, la minería ilegal ha traído consigo diversos problemas sociales, entre los cuales encontramos: contaminación del agua, problemas de salud, deforestación masiva, conflictos económicos y exterminio de especies naturales.
En este orden de ideas, este ensayo muestra los efectos negativos que existen en el país con la minería ilegal tomando como caso específico el departamento del Chocó. En este se hace referencia a diversos grupos de presión ambientalistas como: Cocomopoca (proveniente del Chocó), Greenpeace Colombia, Avaaz Colombia y CENSAT agua viva, con el propósito de estudiar la gestión de lobby de los mismos, teniendo en cuenta la falta de normatividad y las falencias institucionales del Estado colombiano ante la grave crisis de la minería ilegal. A partir de lo anterior, es preciso resaltar que los grupos de presión en Colombia no están bajo un bloque legislativo que limite su quehacer o determine lineamientos en el respectivo procedimiento.

Author
The content of the article must be unpublished, it must not be in the process of evaluation by another institution, it must not have been distributed to third parties, there must be no legal or contractual limitation that prohibits the author from authorizing the use of their work in open access and in printed or digital form.
Obtaining reproduction rights for all graphical material (tables, figures, diagrams, photographs) is the responsibility of the authors. Therefore, they must send authorizations for the publication and use of this material.
