This review seeks to provide a panoramic view of the ethical and regulatory aspects of the emerging field of nutrigenomics, given that it is a technology with significant implications for the health of individuals and their families, so it is intended to identify the best practices for address the challenges related to its regulation (also emerging) and the ethical implications that may arise. For this, the Web of Science and SCOPUS databases were used with search equations such as “TITLE-ABS-KEY (ethics AND in AND nutrigenomics)” or “TITLE-ABS-KEY (nutrigenomics AND legislation)”. Although it is known that understanding these aspects is essential to, in a given case, help ensure that it is used safely and responsibly, always for the benefit of the population in aspects such as reducing the risk of genetic diseases through the recommendation of diets based on the genotype of each individual, the information found, for the most part, is old and reflects the short progress that has been made in this regard.
