The objective of this study was to characterize the fabrication of micроchannels in ABS polymer material using 3D printing, varying fill density (60% and 80%), widths (0.1 to 1 mm), and geometries (linear and curvilinear). The parts were designed in SolidWorks, printed using a Da Vinci 1.0 AiO (extruder temperature 245 °C, build plate 100 °C), and analyzed using digital microscopy. The results showed that the linear channels were well-defined up to a width of 0.3 mm. For the curvilinear channels, a fill density of 80% significantly reduced internal obstructions compared to 60%. It is concluded that higher density improves resolution and reduces printing defects, but ABS material, due to its low solvent resistance, limits fluidic applications. This study provides specific parameters for the rapid and low-cost manufacturing of microchannels in ABS.
