Challenges faced by farmers for exporting their products: a systematic literature review
In the present study, we analyze and synthesize the existing scientific literature on empirical studies associated with tariff and non-tariff challenges related to agricultural exports at the international level, given the problems they cause for farmers to participate in foreign markets. The study is limited to the literature found between 2013 and 2023, following the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses) method for Systematic Literature Reviews (SLRs), using the databases of Scopus, Web of Science, Springer, and SciELO. Among the findings, a gap is identified in qualitative studies related to non-tariff barriers, a lack of studies conducted in Mexico, and the absence of cultural unfamiliarity as a triggering factor for successful placement in other markets.
