Cinema and the use of digital tools for the appropriation of human rights in the classroom
Cinema as a social representation implies the use of multiple elements of communication that, in turn, makes it possible to address various topics that can touch the daily life, imagination and emotionality of the participants, which is why it can become an excellent tool for education in the area of social studies, its inclusion for the management of issues such as human rights is invaluable. Cinema also generates creativity, reflection and critical thinking in students, which ultimately contribute to the educational process. In the classroom, films can be used either as work material or for the creation of videos for the expression of various topics and everyday situations close to the student, in any case, the image and sound can contribute to the construction of knowledge, in the expression of emotions and even in the resolution of conflicts in the classroom. However, in a large number of educational institutions there are conflicts that affect the daily life in the classroom, some problems even lead to school violence, which is why the search for initiatives and proposals to mitigate these situations is urgent. In this context, tools such as film and video can be incorporated in the classroom to support the appropriation of human rights, a topic that can have a great impact on conflict mitigation. This article presents a reflection on the subject from the author's own experience.
