This study was conducted in the municipality of Salamanca in the state of Guanajuato, with a sample of 15 students. This research sets out the general objective of assessing the effectiveness of a strategy for reducing specific difficulties in learning mathematics, specifically in basic operations, relying on observation techniques, as well as parametric and non-parametric testing instruments. The study is supported by three theories, the first of which is psychogenetic theory, secondly, environmental theory, and finally counting theory.

In order to carry out this research, we begin with a psycho-pedagogical assessment, where certain characteristics of the students are evaluated to determine whether the student has specific learning difficulties (intrinsic to the student) or learning problems (extrinsic to the student). The result obtained after a psycho-pedagogical evaluation was that two of the students have specific learning difficulties (intrinsic). A psycho-educational intervention is carried out, implementing strategies that help students overcome their difficulties.
