Empleo de redes sociales digitales, salud mental y mediación parental en la adolescencia:
En la actualidad las redes sociales digitales se han convertido en espacios importantes de socialización para los adolescentes. La interacción en estas plataformas ha generado preocupación en cuanto a posibles consecuencias para la salud mental en esta edad. La mediación del entorno familiar puede ser un factor protector ante posibles riesgos en línea. El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo revisar de manera narrativa los principales resultados de las investigaciones que en los últimos años se han interesado por la relación entre el empleo de redes sociales digitales, la salud mental y la mediación parental en la adolescencia. A pesar de que existen resultados contradictorios, la mayoría de los hallazgos de estudios previos en este campo sugieren que el empleo de las redes sociales perjudica el bienestar de los adolescentes provocando síntomas externalizantes e internalizantes y una menor satisfacción con la vida. Asimismo, la mediación parental con frecuencia disminuye las afectaciones que trae para la salud mental la interacción en estas plataformas. La estrategia de mediación activa es la más efectiva en esta etapa de la vida.
