This article presents a reflection on the connections posed by María Elvira Escallón’s work In Vitro between the meanings carried by the Sabana Station building, its intervention for the realization of an artistic event and that expression of the common that the work makes sensitive. The objective is to explore in context the connection between the ontology of the common and the significant elements presented by Escallón’s work. The cultural link with the common allows us to take a particular look at this work by Escallón and at the role of the contemporary work of art and its response to the contextual conditions that give rise to it.
