Risk management analysis for the mitigation of the environmental impact in the Quimbo hydroelectric project: A perspective of the PMBOK.

The main objective of this document is to obtain a good environmental risk management practice in each of the activities carried out in the construction of the El Quimbo hydroelectric plant, based on the PMBOK guide, incorporating tools from ISO 14001: 2015, ISO 31000: 2018 and ISO 31010: 2019, in this way it focuses on explaining how the PMBOK proposal allows structuring the events that positively and negatively affected the performance of the project, where social resistance activities, caused among others, by problems are reported. environmental issues, which has generated delays, construction and operation suspensions, complaints, constant litigation, penalties, over costs, which affect the normal development of the project causing economic losses of millions of dollars.

Through a rigorous bibliographic review, an analysis of the project structure and information from similar cases, it is intended to propose an environmental risk management scheme applying the PMBOK guide on project management experiences and practices at the Hydroelectric “El Quimbo ”.

This project is developed as a work option monograph in the Project Management Master of the Open and Distance National University (UNAD).
