In this chapter, it is intended that students of engineering and related areas of the National Open and Distance University UNAD and other universities obtain the necessary knowledge to complement their mathematical training that they will use in their daily professional performance. This chapter contains the basic introductory material to Linear Algebra and elements of Vector Calculus; promoting the autonomy of learning in the student, which provides the conceptual tools, along with the detailed solutions of exercises and problems, involving previous fundamental concepts seen in the differential calculus and integral calculus courses. As a proposal, we want the student not to stop their learning process due to gaps or conceptual obstacles, which they may have forgotten. By mobilizing all the knowledge through the well-detailed example, we guarantee a conceptual maturity in the constructions that are projected in the Linear Algebra and Vector Calculus courses, a proposal that has been built with the participation of networks of tutors in recent years in the School of Basic Sciences, Technology and Engineering of the National Open and Distance University (UNAD).
