Evaluation Of Traditional Post-Harvest Practices Of Quinoa Cultivation In Cundinamarca Colombia
The cultivation of quinoa is recognized for its nutritional characteristics and easy adaptation to different agroecological conditions. The objective of this study was to collect and evaluate the postharvest activities of the quinoa crop in Cundinamarca. A participatory action methodology was used, through visits and interviews with selected producers in the department. Information was collected on the traditional postharvest stages of the Subachoque, Sibaté, Carmen de Carupa, Zipaquirá, Fusagasugá, Lenguazaque, Guasca, Guachetá and Chocontá regions. The process is described where it is evidenced that some stages are manual, however, most are technified, an analysis of the post-harvest system was carried out to identify the weaknesses, opportunities, strengths, and threats presented by the associations. In the community, they identified the required improvement actions and the impact of cultivation on the associations' family economy.
