English teaching model, a pending task in Colombian penitentiary education
Prison centers are spaces that provide educational opportunities for literacy and resocialization of people deprived of liberty. The current educational model for the Colombian penitentiary and prison system insufficiently develops the teaching of English, which is why this article reflects on what elements should be considered for the construction of an English teaching model in the context Colombian prison? For this, the existing literature on this field of study and the approaches to teaching English that are consistent with the practical and meaningful learning of adult education in prison contexts are analyzed. Theoretical, empirical and experiential elements are proposed that must be considered to ensure that the English teaching model is valid, reliable and contributes to mastery of the language and the resocializing objectives of prison education.
