Indigenous education based on community-based schools

The article, derived from ethnographic research, has the purpose of accounting for the community nature of the Education of the Nasa Indigenous People in Colombia, through the analysis of educational processes in an indigenous reservation located in the north of the department of Cauca. In this territory, the school and the educational processes are designed and built by the communities, and in the various moments of the educational processes, the communities are protagonists. The purpose of education in these schools and in this territory is the strengthening of the community and the political struggles of this indigenous people. Analyzing this school-community relationship allows us to contribute to research on intercultural education in Colombia and Latin America.
