Contextualization: Nariño is the main pea-producing department in Colombia, with a predominance of family farming subsystems associated with joint farming activities such as potato cultivation, livestock, and small livestock breeding.

Knowledge gap: However, despite its importance, evidence of comprehensive studies that analyze the behavior of supply, demand and prices is scarce, limiting the design of sustainable development policies that consider the different socioeconomic contexts.

Methodology: Based on this, a documentary research and statistical analysis was carried out to generate explanatory contributions of an inductive type. In the case of supply and demand in the main marketplaces, central tendency, dispersion and network analysis were performed, and finally, an ARIMA (1,0,1) model was constructed with the real price series.

Results and conclusion: The results revealed a concentration of 91% of production in regions such as Nariño, Cundinamarca, Boyacá, Antioquia, Huila and N. Santander. In turn, the main marketplaces supplied with production from Nariño have been "Corabastos" and Ipiales "Somos Todos", with a total average of 48,679 t. In the case of the real price during 2009 to 2021, it has presented a growth rate of 2.53%, however, projections for the first half of 2022 indicate a decrease of 3.89%. In this sense, studies of this type are crucial in defining rural development policies and making assertive decisions that will make markets more dynamic, ensuring the equitable participation of the entire region.
