  1. An author makes substantial contributions to the conception or design of a manuscript, or to the collection, analysis, or interpretation of the data contained therein, and
  2. An author drafts the manuscript or reviews it critically to determine its relevant intellectual content, and
  3. An author participates in approving the final version of a manuscript, submitted for publication, and
  4. An author assumes responsibility for all parts of a manuscript, ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the submitted manuscript are appropriately investigated and resolved.

Furthermore, following the recommendations of the ICMJE, it is considered that collaborators who do not meet some of these 4 criteria, although they should not be considered as authors, should be mentioned in the Acknowledgments section of the manuscript ( https://www.icmje.org/recommendations/browse/roles-and-responsibilities/defining-the-role-of-authors-and-contributors.html).

Conflict of interest: Authors of a manuscript who have any conflict of interest with their publication that could affect the results, discussion, or conclusions of the manuscript must submit a conflict-of-interest declaration form along with the manuscript. Likewise, in the "Conflict of Interest" section, the authors must explain in detail the type and nature of the conflicts stated in the aforementioned declaration. Similarly, following the recommendations of the COPE (https://publicationethics.org/guidance/guideline/ethical-guidelines-peer-reviewers), researchers or academics who work at the same institution as any of the authors or who have been mentors, apprentices, close collaborators or fellows of the authors of a submitted manuscript should refrain from reviewing it to avoid a conflict of interest. Additionally, reviewers of a manuscript should not agree its review, just to see it without the intention of submitting the corresponding review comments and should avoid the improper use of all contents or data of the manuscripts under review, carrying out an evaluation from the scientific, academic, technical, statistical, interpretive and conceptual viewpoint.

Pre-evaluation of manuscripts through Turnitin: Before reviewing submitted manuscripts by academic peers, the journal uses Turnitin (www.turnitin.com) to determine the percentage of similarity with other works and the percentage of text generated by artificial intelligence. In both cases, high values for one or both percentages will result in the manuscript being rejected. The journal is committed to evaluating manuscripts, regardless of the authors' affiliation, taking into account the guidelines established by Publindex, the governing body for scientific publications in Colombia, for the publication and review of articles by researchers linked to the journal's home institution (https://scienti.minciencias.gov.co/publindex/#/noticias/lista), maintaining the transparency and ethics criteria corresponding to a quality scientific publication, edited by a public and national university.

Article corrections: Once an article has passed the review process, after reviewers and authors approve its publication, the authors have one last opportunity to review the article in PDF format before publishing it on the journal's website. However, it is possible that, despite all the reviews, some errors presented during the manuscript layout may not be detected in time. If this is the case, minor corrections will be made to a published article, as long as they do not compromise its substantive content, pagination, metadata, or other ethical and quality aspects.

Article retractions: If a complaint is filed that questions the results validity or scientific quality of a published manuscript, or if the aforementioned manuscript presents an ethical issue, plagiarism or similarity, fabrication or manipulation of data, or other related problems, the journal will retract the published manuscript, preventing access to it and notifying the authors about the source of this complaint. These cases will be analyzed by the journal's Editorial Team before making a final decision on the manuscript retraction. In each case, the recommendations of the National Copyright Directorate will be followed (https://www.derechodeautor.gov.co/es) and the corresponding measures will be taken, taking into account the COPE recommendations.

Petitions, complaints and claims: The authors can contact the editorial team through the official Journal email (riaa@unad.edu.co), to present to the Editorial Director any type of request that clarifies any process related to the manuscripts received or published.
