Hoy día, uno de los retos más interesantes que tienen las revistas colombianas es la nueva política de Publindex COLCIENCIAS sobre el modelo de medición planteado en la convocatoria 768 de 2016, entre los aspectos más destacables incluyen poner ciertas bases arbitradas o con comités de selección llamadas SIRES, las cuales dependen del impacto que tienen a nivel general y específico dentro de3a de especialidad de la revista, en este aspecto destacamos las siguientes:
