This research is based on contributions from education have been made to the tourism in different contexts. The tourism educative term has been adopted, to refer to all the actions derive from the academy, training, as well as all the educational processes that allow the diffusion of customs, traditions and cultural patrimony of a region. The pilot study was developed in the department of Nariño which has great diversity and rich landscape, where they are in the same environment: beach, mountains and forest, with an endless number of festivals, celebrations and history, that make this region an unique context, worthy of being known worldwide level.

The department of Nariño, in Colombia has a wealth of natural resources, but has not yet developed the positioning of its tourist attractions to national and international level. The regional institutions have made progress regarding tourism development opportunities, which has identified tourism as a prioritized productive chain for Nariño given its great natural, cultural and historical resources.

Some educational travel, school of learning experiences, realized in various countries experiences were taking as reference, taking into account that education is the basis for developing a sustainable tourism culture and educational tourism products. The research methodology was developed under a descriptive approach with the ethnographic method which allowed a qualitative analysis by assessing the approaches and imagery around the actions of educational tourism and projections from local to global
