This research explores how the Bilingualism National Program (BNP) is a model of Virtual Learning Community (CAV), according to the model proposed by Pratt y Palloff (2003) where some communication skills are generated. It aims to identify how people learn English language through the BNP and what skills are acquired when interact in a CAV. Therefore is important to identify the communication skills components to enhance activities in English language such as comprehension, expression and interaction of students within a CAV. Consequently, this study constitutes an exploratory first phase focused primarily on students enrolled in the BNP as a distinctive feature of internal validity.

Thus to determine the communication skills development generated from the model of CAV (Pratt et al., 2003) among students were used the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching and Assessment (CEF, 2002).
