Relación entre la posición de los estudiantes a distancia en una red social, los factores psicosociales y el éxito académico

This paper presents the results of the Network analysis project, the resilience and the student’s academic success in the distance modality. In the investigation the students of two groups of distance education took part.

We observed: (1) the networks through the networking analysis methodology, (2) psychosocial factors (self-confidence, persistence, work team, tolerance, sociability abilities and selfconcept) and (3) the student’s academic successful. The used methodology was quantitative with network analysis for show the representation of leisure and academic social network of the students. The tools for the psychosocial evaluation that were studied were the QRF4 (Resilience Factors), AF5 (Self-concept) and EHS (Social Abilities Scale). It was done a relational analysis with the information for determine the kind of the relation between the measures of social networks and the psychosocial factors scales and the successful academic. It is the permanence and the frequency of the high reports in the courses. The information showed that the students how spent more time on the net have more probability to get low academics results and more probability to desert; while the students with higher level show more interaction, intermediation and approximation to get better academic results and they have a continued educational process. In addition, we observed that the self-concept, academic effectiveness and the centrality in the social network have salient correlation. This approximation to studying variables that goes on favor of the student’s successful permanency through the analysis of the social networks become very interesting for the UNAD. Also it is very important in the action that we do in the relations between the Education Science School and Continue Education Program of the Social and Community System. There are the future projects accomplishments orientated to accompanying the social networks of the students, to the students themselves who participate in minor measure and to help them in the attention of psicosocials aspects.
