Toward the cultural transformation of Sicolsa del Centro through a process of action research
Organizational culture could be a significant catalyst or impediment to the achievement of companies' strategic objectives, thus making cultural transformation a key task for strategists when necessary. However, the process of achieving cultural transformation remains an open problem in the scientific literature, warranting further investigation. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to present the progress of a collaborative effort between researchers and professionals aimed at instigating a cultural transformation within the company Sicolsa del Centro (SDC). To this end, the scientific paradigm of action research was addressed, starting with the concurrent identification of a scientific-practical problem through joint analytical sessions aimed at establishing the course of action. As a result of this process, a project was formulated and is currently being submitted to funding opportunities for its implementation. The knowledge gap addressed by this project lies in incorporating the perspective of companies that have overcome crises and now require to transform the entrenched culture during the crisis period. The novelty and value of the work presented lie in both the studied phenomenon (cultural transformation in crisis contexts) and the approach employed (action research), thus initiating a double scientific and practical contribution from the early stages of the process.
