The purpose of this article is to show how the supply chain management influences the school drop-out rate in the middle education level at the Institución Educativa Instituto Técnico Superior Industrial campus A.

This process had its starting point in the characterization of the supply chain, the information and communication systems of the institution, taking into account the operational processes of the educational institution (hereinafter EI) and, in turn, based on the information gathered from interviewing the directors of each area involved in the academic and administrative operations of the institution.

As a result of the characterization process, it was carried out an in-house study a through a strategic analysis that enabled to determine its strengths, threats, weaknesses and opportunities. This analysis was complemented with the application of the matrix Vester, which made possible to evaluate each of the areas involved in the supply chain of the EI.
