Foreign direct investment (FDI) represents an opportunity for the economies of the countries to improve their macroeconomic rates. In Mexico, government authorities have promoted the national economy through the flow of FDI, but it is necessary to maintain a balance between the FDI and local economic activities; the present document aims to provide a knowledge of the current status of endogenous development factors in order to identify the vulnerable elements of the local economy within foreign direct investment; the reference for this analysis is the FDI carried out in the south of the Istmo de Tehuantepec on which wind parks were built; the relevance of this document is to serve as a discussion maker on the effects of this FDI in the community; it is concluded that no factor has been developed and the local economy is suffering its consecuences.
