Author Guidelines

General Considerations

Authors must submit all manuscripts through the Publicaciones e Investigación journal submission system, available at the following URL:

Authors must specify the section of the journal to which the submitted work belongs and verify in advance that the manuscript complies with the required structure. Manuscripts that do not follow the appropriate structure for the selected section may be rejected.

All submitted manuscripts must comply with the policies and scope of the journal Publicaciones e Investigación, as described below.

The sections defined by the journal Publicaciones e Investigación are as follows:

Review Article: Review articles consist of a detailed analysis of the available literature on a specific area of study, with the aim of identifying gaps in knowledge or current issues in the field. This type of work should adopt a critical and analytical perspective, offering insights and suggestions that may guide future research. Review articles do not include original results or unpublished data. Their structure may include sections such as an abstract, keywords, introduction, thematic sections, discussion, conclusions, and possible directions for future research. (Guidelines)

Reflection Article: A reflection article is a manuscript in which the author presents a critical analysis or personal perspective on a specific topic related to a particular area of science, often addressing controversial or emerging issues. (Guidelines)

Research Article: A research article presents the results of original research conducted in different fields of engineering. This section publishes relevant works that report original research findings which have not been previously published or submitted to another journal. These articles are derived from research projects and contribute new knowledge or the application of existing knowledge to industry, organizations, or society.

The purpose of this type of article is to communicate research results, ideas, and debates in a clear, concise, and reliable manner. Preference will be given to manuscripts that contribute to areas such as equity, competitiveness, development, environmental conservation, innovation, technological advancement, and the improvement of service quality in diverse contexts related to engineering. All manuscripts submitted to the journal must be original and unpublished, and must not have been previously published or simultaneously submitted to another journal or publication. In addition, all manuscripts will be screened for possible plagiarism or similarities using Turnitin software. Manuscripts with similarity levels equal to or greater than 20% will be rejected.

Consideration of authorship

The journal Publicaciones e Investigación considers an author to be a person who meets the following conditions:

Have made a substantial contribution to the conception or design of the study, or to the collection, analysis, or interpretation of the data; and
Have contributed significantly to the drafting of the manuscript or to the critical revision of its intellectual content; and
Have approved the final version of the manuscript and agree to be accountable for all aspects of the work, ensuring that any questions related to the accuracy, reliability, or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.

All individuals listed as authors must meet the criteria for authorship, and all those who meet these criteria must be included in the list of authors. The corresponding author must declare all authors on behalf of the group and specify the role performed by each member in the development of the work.

In the case of group authorship, all members of the group must also meet the authorship criteria. The group must designate the individuals who will sign the Author Agreement on its behalf.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

Articles submitted for review and aspiring to be published must not have been published or sent simultaneously to another publication.
All manuscripts submitted to the journal must be original and unpublished.
The text must comply with the instructions for the author (journal article format link), and must be coherent and well-written.

If the manuscript is original, the main author declares that this article constitutes a departure from a research project approved by a Scientific Research Ethics Committee (the endorsement of the Institution's Research Ethics Committee that approves the development is attached To the investigation). For all submitted works, the main author is responsible for the contents and declares that there are no plagiarisms, conflicts of interest, or ethical conflicts.
