This theoretical review addresses the bases and limitations of the prevailing Western paradigm in educational processes, and an approach to the features of complex
thought, its ethics, aesthetics and epistemological tools, to incorporate them into higher educational processes through pedagogical mediations as a significant
pathway to essential changes.

Educational institutions and teachers are challenged to seek innovative educational models that allow the multidimensional development of their students according
to the needs and demands of today’s societies, where network logics and use of information and communication technologies (ICT) are predominant.
