This article has the goal of sharing a concrete experience of construction of memory initiatives amid legal and psychological support in legal stages. A memory gallery was elaborated with a mother whose child had been a victim of serious violations to human rights in Bogotá. This process was carried on following a special memory methodology and participatory techniques during a period of eight months. The result of this initiative was the elaboration of Galería de Omar y Lucero contra el olvido y la impunidad (Omar’s and Lucero’s Gallery against Forgetfulness and Impunity) representing a coping mechanism that highlights this mother’s personal life history and emphasizes her fighting against impunity, this way vindicating her son’s good name.
