Artificial intelligence and digital human security: a comparative study of the policies of the United States, China, and the European Union

In the context of the rapid evolution and expansion of artificial intelligence (AI) in our daily lives, this paper aims to analyze its implications for digital human security. It also provides a precise definition of this concept and organizes it into a series of principles that we have used as a basis for examining the AI regulations adopted by three key powers in the international arena: the United States, China, and the European Union (EU). We have assessed the extent to which these regulations align with those principles and identify the essential differences among their strategies. Following the analysis, we can affirm that there is a competitive dynamic surrounding the objective of developing the most advanced AI. In most cases, this competition is driven by the aim of becoming the dominant power, whether in terms of political and economic power or regulatory capacity. This situation raises questions about the actual implications of these strategies for the protection of digital human security.
