In a world driven by immediacy and multitasking, many people have become disconnected from one of life's most essential acts: eating. Meals are often consumed in front of screens, in a hurry, without awareness of flavors, emotions, or bodily signals. This disconnection not only affects people's relationship with food but also has significant consequences for their physical and emotional health (1).

Non-communicable diseases represent one of the greatest challenges to global public health. This presentation expands the initial approach by positioning mindful eating as a Metahealth strategy that integrates body awareness, emotional regulation, health education, and self-care.

The presentation offers a critical reflection on how automatic eating behaviors influence overall well-being. Drawing on clinical experience and health promotion practice, it highlights that many individuals eat in response to anxiety, stress, or unconscious habits rather than physiological hunger (2).

Using the TALK approach (Theory, Application, Learning, and Knowledge), participants are invited to reconnect with their bodies, recognize their emotions, and transform the way they relate to food. Mindful eating is presented as an accessible, evidence-based practice that promotes healthier lifestyles and enhances quality of life (3).

Through the FIKA TALK format, this proposal combines scientific evidence with clinical experience to demonstrate how automatic eating contributes to anxiety and emotional eating. As its main innovative contribution, it introduces an integrative health promotion model designed to transform individuals’ relationship with food while fostering holistic well-being.

Ultimately, this presentation argues that the goal is not simply to eat better, but to become fully present in our own lives.
