Construction project management is constantly looking for new practices, methodologies and constant improvements in all its processes and areas of knowledge to meet the main objectives of construction, the PMI standards is a worldwide recognized methodology and that in Colombia in recent years 20 years has been adapted to many fields of both private and public project management, the PMI methodology is developed in five phases (start, planning, execution, monitoring and control and closure), 10 areas of knowledge (PMBOK, 49 processes) and four complementary areas (construction annexes, 17 processes).

The BIM (Building Information Modeling) methodology generates the ability to transform the construction sector based on the balance between predictive methodologies and adaptive methodologies, it is a methodology based on digital construction modeling that makes work on integration processes collaborative with the ability to enhance business projects.

The research being proposed is based on the application of PMI standards and BIM modeling for the management of construction projects, it will be approached from a descriptive type of research, and parameterized from a mixed approach (qualitative and quantitative) where It will make use of techniques such as observation, experience, expert judgment, and the application of two proposed methodologies to develop a comprehensive construction project management plan for the region.
