Risk management analysis for the mitigation of the environmental impact in the Quimbo hydroelectric project: A perspective of the PMBOK
The objective of this initiative is a theoretical dissertation based on the analysis of environmental risks in the El Quimbo Hydroelectric project within the framework of the PMBOK guide (PMI, 2017). The problem is focused on elucidating how the PMBOK proposal allows structuring the events that positively and negatively affected the performance of the project where social resistance activities caused, among others, by environmental problems, which have generated delays, construction suspensions, are reported. and operation, complaints, constant litigation, sanctions, over costs and that affect the normal development of the project causing economic losses of millions of dollars.
Through a rigorous bibliographic review, an analysis of the project structure and information on similar cases, it is intended to propose an environmental risk management scheme applying the PMBOK guide on project management experiences and practices at the Hydroelectric “El Quimbo ”.
