Study with potential candidates for a doctoral program
According to the “Mission of wise men”, adviser for the development of the Colombian Science, Technology, and Innovation (CTeI) policy, it is essential to improve the country's productivity and with it, the quality of life of the population and one of the priority strategies is high-level training for the development of patents and innovation of the national productive apparatus. Therefore, the objective of the study presented in this document, part of the intention of the School of Basic Sciences, Technology and Engineering (ECBTI) of the National Open and Distance University (UNAD) to design a doctorate in engineering, relevant to national needs in a globalized framework, taking advantage of the installed capacity of the institution in virtual education, which is a differentiating and highly relevant aspect in the current scenario. The methodology is focused on a study based on a survey applied to a population of 381 people. The findings are valuable for decision-making in the design of the graduate profile, the name of the program, among other variables that guarantee the national, regional, and international relevance of the program.
