Organizations today want to increase their agility and efficiency in each of their processes and generally use process management tools or Business Process Management (BPM) for this, and their use helps to identify processes that are susceptible to improvement.

At the National Open and Distance University UNAD Zona Amazonia Orinoquia ZAO, a process of orientation to In Situ and open students (B-learning and CIPAS) is carried out in order to reinforce knowledge in specific areas such as technology, mathematics, communication, and introduction to respective training program. In this process, teachers must generate reports in various online forms, generating duplication of information and labor inefficiency. In order to improve this deficiency, the BPM allows the current state (AS-IS) of the process to be modeled and then propose the appropriate adjustments or improvements. The purpose of this article is to describe the current state (AS-IS) of the In Situ and Open teaching support system to establish future improvements to activities, events or flows. To do this, and following the BPM methodology, the events, processes and responses to the process were identified, which includes the inputs and outputs that served as the basis for modeling the AS-IS. The main result is the current state model and the activities susceptible to improvement were identified.
