MYTHS AND TRUTHS OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL DIMENSION
Context: The environmental topic in Colombia has occupied a relevant área in the country for several decades, a situation that has permeated the academic community. This has resulted in the creation of programs whose affinity has generated confusion about the scope of their professionals and the disciplinary distance between them. Objective: to establish critically the difference between Environmental Engineering and Environmental Administration. Methodology: a forum entitled "Myths and truths of the environmental dimension" was developed with six (6) experts from the areas of Environmental Engineering and Environmental Administration. The discussion with the panelists was about three specific situations related to the environmental dimension and the work of their disciplines. Results: The panelists and the documentary review showed a differentiation between the programs associated with the profile of the graduates and their training strengths, with environmental engineers in a more applied role and environmental administrators with a role focused on the management of natural resources and green businesses.
