Evaluation is a central aspect of all educational institutions whose purpose is continuous improvement, therefore, it is a constitutive part of their management. This article reflects on key aspects that must be considered in the evaluation process and provides a systemic view of what it means to think about evaluation, from the construction of an institutional culture that promotes processes of reflection, research and action in the curriculum. Institutional evaluation requires planning and organization to favor the collection of reliable information, to issue value judgments that lead to making decisions relevant to the interests and needs of the institution. This text describes the proposal for an institutional evaluation model product of the authors“ experience in this type of process, which can be an orientation and adapted to the different institutions according to their needs and particularities.
