For the detection of cardiovascular disorders known as arrhythmias, an algorithm is designed for analyzing electrocardiographic signals in Matlab that enables the preprocessing of information provided from the 'PTB Diagnostic ECG Database v1.0.0', which is free for use on the PhysioNet site.

 

First, information is restricted only to reading the V3 and V4 ventricles, which provides information related to myocardial problems. The use of the Gabor Wavelet transform can corroborate the data of the spectrum in frequency, visualizing the scalograms of each ventricle. Afterwards, a band-pass filter (FPB) is applied to delete the data acquired by the electrocardiogram, known as the baseline or isoelectric line.

 

Finally, the addition of the Pan-Tompkins algorithm allows the detection of QRS complexes, which are studied to depict ventricular depolarization or electrical stimulation.
