In wireless transmissions there are many factors that play against the correct transmission of signals outdoors, among them is the geography of the place since, as there are trees, plateaus, valleys in the middle of the transmitting and receiving antenna, they significantly and totally affect the sending and receiving of electromagnetic waves that are transmitted through the air. Certain cities have this problem

as is Medellín, which is the central axis of the investigation. In Medellín, according to the last DANE census, there are 2,427,129 million people, therefore, there would be an average of approximately 3,000,000 million devices, added to the problem of signal transmission, the multiplicity of devices would also generate a problem for the city of Medellin, in terms of connectivity. To manage this problem, the simulation of an NB-IoT network is proposed in certain communes, which are the most affected by the poor wireless signal. The results of these simulations will allow decision makers in the city to analyze the implementation of this technology.
