This reflective article presents a critical interpretation of the importance of dance as a pedagogical and cultural tool in strengthening the ethnic identity of the Coreguaje community in the department of Caquetá, Colombia. Based on the analysis of original sources, regulatory documents, and intercultural educational experiences, it is argued that the integration of ancestral practices such as dance into school education not only favors the comprehensive development of children but also promotes cultural revitalization and the recognition of diversity. The purpose of this article is to analyze the educational value of dance from an ethno-educational perspective, in which ancestral knowledge is fused with formal education, promoting processes of inclusion and belonging. This reflection is built through the interpretation of dance as a symbolic vehicle for the transmission of knowledge, memories, and collective values, establishing itself as a pedagogical strategy that favors the preservation of Coreguaje culture and the strengthening of the social fabric. In this context, it is postulated that education, through the integration of indigenous cultural expressions of the territory, such as traditional dance, can become a powerful instrument of resistance, empowerment, and identity for indigenous communities, in line with the principles of the General Education Law (Law 115 of 1994) and intercultural approaches.
