School discrimination in vulnerable populations in Colombia
Discrimination in schools is a serious issue that affects many students around the world, manifesting itself through harassment, exclusion, segregation, and unfair treatment of those who are different. This situation affects students emotionally and impacts the school environment, making them feel unappreciated. This study aims to explore and describe the research on school discrimination of vulnerable populations in Colombia in the last five years. A literature review study was carried out that includes a bibliographic review of various sources, such as Google Scholar and repositories of Colombian universities. The selected documents include scientific articles, and master's and doctoral theses, organized into categories that analyze the typology of school discrimination, its impact on students, prevention strategies, and challenges. The research concludes that, although this problem has been the subject of study in the Colombian academic field, it is essential that the community acts with determination to combat discrimination. It should be noted that this paper is the result of a previous work called “Design of strategies with a situated cognition approach in response to school discrimination: strategies for diverse vulnerable populations in selected institutions”, conducted at the Minuto de Dios University Corporation.
