In this review article, the process of inclusive education in boys and girls is examined based on research conducted in Colombia over the past ten years (2013-2023). Within the analytical framework of the inclusive approach, which aims to ensure that all individuals, regardless of their differences and abilities, have access to quality education and enjoy equal opportunities for learning and personal development. Methodologically, a documentary research method is employed, including a search in digital repositories of various Colombian universities and the academic search engine Google Scholar. Twenty documents, including undergraduate works, master's/doctoral theses, and scientific articles, were selected and subsequently recorded in a reading sheet. The main findings are reported in four categories: inclusive education and the role of the family, inclusive education and the role of social workers, inclusive education and the role of teachers, and finally, inclusive education and public policies. Lastly, the conclusions demonstrate a wide range of research focused on inclusive education, with numerous authors interested in understanding and analyzing the impact of this process on the population with disabilities or exceptional abilities.
