Jorge Luis Jesús Obregón Peralta Universidad Continental

The article proposes a reflection on the loss of meteorites in Antarctica because of climate change, which is a recently documented phenomenon. From this problem, the question arises whether the ownership of meteorites should be considered within the awareness topics of COP 30. To address this issue, a qualitative methodology with an inductive approach is applied, based on the review of bibliographic sources. The analysis is based on a theoretical framework that integrates property law, international environmental law, public law, and political science. As a conclusion, the possible disconnection between the ownership of meteorites in the issues addressed at COP 30 is examined, inviting a critical reflection on their inclusion in future international agendas.
